Resource – January 2026

KidPower International

KidPower International is an organization that helps children, teens, and parents gain knowledge and skills they can use to prevent or stop harm such as child abuse, bullying, harassment, and other forms of violence. KidPower’s programming, resources, and tools teach communication, advocacy, personal safety, and self-defense. The organization values and prioritizes inclusivity, safety, collaboration, and the importance of being proactive. While the KidPower headquarters is located in California, there are KidPower locations spanning the globe.

Kidpower’s website (www.kidpower.org) is chock full of articles, posters, videos, and handouts that can be downloaded for free. Resources are available in languages from Arabic to Vietnamese. By signing up for the free KidPower newsletter, you will receive emails with information about programming updates, new resources, and safety tips to teach children.

KidPower has published a number of helpful books, comics, and social stories that are comprehensive, actionable, and accessible for children, caregivers, and professionals of all abilities. STL CAC clinicians have used The Kidpower Book to develop skills-based interventions for therapy clients. Staff also use Kidpower safety comics to engage kids of all ages in learning and applying personal safety skills. There are also books for caregivers, teachers, and child protection workers. Many KidPower materials are available in Spanish.

The KidPower website hosts live, web-based community workshops. Familypower workshops are geared towards child and adolescents along with their caregivers; topics include safety skills, boundaries, and online safety. Fullpower workshops teach self-defense skills to adults and teens. While the workshops have fees (around $45), partial scholarships are available.
